Summary

In this pulse-racing thriller by the New York Times bestselling author of The Last Agent, an American sleeper cell in Russia goes silent—and it’s one man’s duty to find them。

After a harrowing escape from Russian agents on his last mission, Charles Jenkins thinks he’s finally done with the spy game。 But then the final two of the seven sisters—American assets who have been deep undercover in Russia for decades—cut off all communication with their handlers。 Are they in hiding after detecting surveillance? Or have they turned and become double agents? It’s Jenkins’s duty to find out, but he’s been added to a Russian kill list。 It will require all of Jenkins’s knowledge of spycraft—and an array of disguises—to return to the country undetected。

But plans go awry his first night in Moscow when Jenkins gets involved in an altercation that ends in the death of the son of one of Russia’s most powerful organized crime leaders。 Pursued by mafia henchmen, Russian agents, and a particularly dogged Moscow police detective, Jenkins is determined to track down the final two sisters and get them to America—or die trying。 As various forces close in, Jenkins fears this time he might’ve pushed his luck too far。

Another good story。 Read ‘rm all! This was a good story but near the end it was a bit unbelievable。 Dozens of gunner somehow “sneak” into a warehouse without being seen or heard? Seriously? Otherwise the book was well done。

loved itAbsolutely fabulous! Well written and believable。 I think I will follow this author。 Can’t wait to read the next book。

This last book in the Charles Jenkins trilogy was a very satisfying read。 It certainly kept the themes from the previous books in view: was it possible to discover and to extract two women (in their sixties) from very high positions in the Putin administration? Jenkins, a very tall African American, had to learn how to appear shorter, to apply makeup or a mask to look a different race, etc。 This was accompanied by several passports and other documents for each identity he needed to survive in co This last book in the Charles Jenkins trilogy was a very satisfying read。 It certainly kept the themes from the previous books in view: was it possible to discover and to extract two women (in their sixties) from very high positions in the Putin administration? Jenkins, a very tall African American, had to learn how to appear shorter, to apply makeup or a mask to look a different race, etc。 This was accompanied by several passports and other documents for each identity he needed to survive in contemporary Moscow and on other journeys in his mission to find and to free these two women who were suddenly silent。 Were they still alive? Had their covers been blown? Or was there another reason for their silence, perhaps temporary? Charles Jenkins was on a kill list, so he knew he could not be identified; if so, he would be chased all over Russia。 His first night in Moscow, trying to be under the radar, he accidentally happened upon a young man who was beating up a prostitute。 As that event unfolded, he could not pass up trying to intervene to save a woman。 As it happened, the young man was killed -- and Jenkins learned later that the dead man was the only son of the leader of the Russian Mafia!Again, this was a well-written page turner。 Dugoni is an amazing researcher and writer。 I was surprised that his topic for this series was espionage in present-day Russia。 In some ways, it reminded me of Cold War books I'd read years ago, but with all the new tech gadgets and government methods。Another thing I should have mentioned about the previous books was that I was pleased to note that the main characters were in their sixties, a refreshing change from most fiction that I read。 。。。more

¡Excelente libro, me encantó!

This is an excellent series and each one kept me on the edge of my seat。 Robert Dugoni has perfected the cliffhanger chapter end that keeps you engaged and reading/listening "just a bit longer" and into the night。 International CIA/espionage/Russian intrigue。 I read the others from this series in print but this is the first one I've listened to, expertly narrated by Edwardo Ballerini。 4。5 stars rounded up This is an excellent series and each one kept me on the edge of my seat。 Robert Dugoni has perfected the cliffhanger chapter end that keeps you engaged and reading/listening "just a bit longer" and into the night。 International CIA/espionage/Russian intrigue。 I read the others from this series in print but this is the first one I've listened to, expertly narrated by Edwardo Ballerini。 4。5 stars rounded up 。。。more

The Silent Sisters is the third and final book in the Charles Jenkins series which is a blend of suspense and espionage。 Normally, spies and espionage aren't my cuppa tea, but Robert Dugoni is one of my favourite authors so with his name on the cover, you know I'll give it a try。I have read and enjoyed the first two books in this series (I recommend reading them prior to this book) and it was nice to see the series end with this nail-biter of a read。 This book is fast-paced and with a great main The Silent Sisters is the third and final book in the Charles Jenkins series which is a blend of suspense and espionage。 Normally, spies and espionage aren't my cuppa tea, but Robert Dugoni is one of my favourite authors so with his name on the cover, you know I'll give it a try。I have read and enjoyed the first two books in this series (I recommend reading them prior to this book) and it was nice to see the series end with this nail-biter of a read。 This book is fast-paced and with a great main character in Charles Jenkins, an American spy in his 60's with a strong moral compass and desire to finish the massive and dangerous task he started。 The Seven Sisters are a group of women who were raised in Russia and from birth, trained to be spies for the US and have infiltrated high echelons of Russian government。 Jenkins is responsible for bringing the last two spies safely to the US。 The action scenes were amazing, and the tension was kept high。 Jenkins, now on his third mission, is well-known to the Russian government and is at the top of their 'kill list'。 He has the FSB (successor to the KGB) hot on his heels and the Russian Mafiya has noticed he's back in town。 With everyone on his tail, Jenkins uses some interesting ways to hide his 6-foot frame and African American complexion which will require readers to suspend disbelief but it was a fun Mission Impossible kind of thing。 This was a great addition to the Charles Jenkins series。 Filled with Russian Mafiya, murder and political intrigue (without being too 'politic-y'), this is a story about unexpected collaborations, edge-of-your-seat action scenes, that explored the blurred lines between good and bad and featuring a main character who shows readers that age is just a number。 。。。more

A quick read, and very well-done。 For some reason, I found myself not particularly empathizing with the characters。。。 hence the four stars instead of five。 Notwithstanding that, eminently worth the read。

Another tail of Jenkins venturing into Russia to save the last of the 7 sisters。 The FSB are onto Jenkins, as well as the Mafia, and local police。 I dislike books that glimpse into the future, but luckily this one I felt didn’t really give it away。This is a solid action story, with just enough differences from the first two books to keep you interested。

As a third part, yeah, it definitelyKept my attention。 I love the way the sisters were well put together and ready / understanding of there roles。 The fly was kind of an annoying way to end though, as though now Charlie will have to pay attention to that mans call。 But。 If there are more books, I’ll read them。 Though the man is in his 60s。 At some point this will have to stop。 3 star。

The audio was a little hard for me to follow because of all the different Russian characters’ names but the story itself was really good。 I love Robert Dugoni and am hoping for another installment to the Charles Jenkins series!

We’ll done storyline and character development。 Enough action and primarily tension to keep one reading。 Dragged a bit at about the three quarter mark, but picked right on up。
